HAVING dominated the inaugural season of the Racing Post Yearling Bonus scheme with juveniles, trainer Richard Hannon and agent Peter Doyle struck at Doncaster to land another £10,000 prize - this time with a three-year-old.
King Of Jazz showed no inconvenience at being off the course for 309 days when storming home to win the crownhotel-bawtry.com Maiden Stakes, a race that had attracted criticism for host course Doncaster for being below Horsemen's Group tariffs levels. The seven-furlong race attracted two fewer runners than last year.
King Of Jazz, a son of Acclamation, runs in the colours of Justin Dowley and Michael Pescod. He was bought for £48,000 by Peter Doyle at Doncaster in August 2009. Consignor Fernham Farm had bought King Of Jazz as a foal for €40,000. Neither bonus race at The Curragh was won.
