SEVEN Doncaster streets will be shut to allow residents to revel in the Royal wedding celebrations.
Residents on the roads have been given permission to seal themselves off from traffic on Friday to get out chairs and tables and mark the occasion with street parties.
A spokesman for Doncaster Council, which is in charge of closures, said: “We’ve had seven formal applications for road closures for the Royal wedding, all approved.”
It will mean motorists will not be able to access the streets affected in their cars and will have to use alternative routes.
Meanwhile, pubs and bars across the borough are also looking at celebrating the wedding.
Bars are putting in place red, white and blue bunting.
Staff at the Crown Hotel in Bawtry have already done their decorations ahead of the big day.
Katey Dent, sales manager at the venue, said: “We think it will be a great place for the community to come together to watch the wedding and celebrate Kate and Will’s big day.”
Bosses at Robin Hood Airport are expecting the television screens in their lounges to be showing the event.
